This is a stunning YSL evening gown from the 1985 Yves Saint Laurent runway collection. This tuxedo inspired strapless dress is in black satin, with a collar along the strapless bustline. The dress has beautiful domed rhinestone button closures down the front, and a fitted built-in corset bodice. There are slanted front, deep pockets with large flaps.

You can wear the dress fully buttoned or unbuttoned halfway up as shown in the original advertisement.

Yves Saint Laurent often incorporated elements of menswear into his women's fashion collections and this is a great example of that. With a nod to the traditional tuxedo and men's suiting, he created a dramatic evening gown perfectly fitted to a woman's body.
